Background and Experience
Cara’s passion for the industry has been influenced by her family, who work in construction and compliance. She holds a degree in Environmental Health and completed her placement year with IMAC Group, which eventually led to her full-time role. In addition to her degree, Cara also earned an IOSH Managing Safety Certificate, further sharpening her expertise in health and safety. Her love for the ever-evolving challenges in the field keeps her motivated.
Getting Personal
Cara enjoys running outside of work, a hobby she has recently embraced. When asked about her dream destination, Cara didn’t hesitate: New York! The iconic sights and incredible food scene make it her dream destination. If she had a superpower, she’d love to read people’s minds – a skill that would definitely come in handy both in life and on the job.
A Day in the Life at IMAC Group
Cara’s days vary between office work and site visits. In the office, she prepares documents, ensures all staff are trained and also manages safety inspections. On-site, she conducts thorough inspections and delivers toolbox talks, ensuring safety remains a top priority. The most exciting project she’s been involved in is the startup of the Tesco Ireland Contract. From gaining the contract to managing health and safety operations on the ground, Cara found it thrilling to be part of such a transformative project.
Motivational Insights
For Cara, coffee is a must to kickstart her day, but above all, what keeps her productive is her organisational skills. Being overly prepared and ensuring everything is planned out helps her stay on top of her priorities. Cara also draws inspiration from women in the construction industry, acknowledging the unique challenges they face. Her favourite motivational quote? “Everything can be sorted” – a reminder that there’s no challenge too big to overcome.
