Background and Experience
Roma’s interest in the industry was sparked by her sister, a Quantity Surveyor, who took her onsite for a day when she was younger. The experience ignited her passion for construction and set her on a path to pursue it. Currently, Roma is completing a foundation degree in Construction Engineering with Surveying, further solidifying her commitment to the field.
Getting Personal
Outside of work, Roma is an avid sports enthusiast. Gaelic football is her favourite, but she loves challenging herself with various sports like running, tennis, and surfing. A fun fact about Roma? She can play the spoons! If she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to stop time, as she feels it moves too quickly. Her dream travel destination is Iceland, where she dreams of seeing the Northern Lights while relaxing in the Blue Lagoon.
A Day in the Life at IMAC Group
In her role as Contracts Co-ordinator, Roma starts her day by checking in with the team and assigning work orders from the EA. She ensures that all current jobs are up to date and supports claims with necessary information. Her favourite aspect of the job is the dynamic nature of the EA contract, where no two days are the same. She values the people she works with and the continuous learning opportunities her role provides.
Motivation and wisdom
Roma stays motivated by setting both long-term and short-term goals, keeping herself focused on continuous progress. She finds inspiration in Kate Taylor, who broke barriers in boxing and paved the way for female athletes in Ireland. Roma’s proudest accomplishment at work is ensuring that all emergency jobs are attended to on time, a critical aspect of her role. Her favourite advice? “Never make a decision at night time,” and her go-to inspirational quote is, “You miss 100% of the chances you don’t take.”
