At IMAC Group, every team member plays a vital role in keeping things running smoothly. This time, we’re introducing Cara Kerlin, our Group Accountant. From managing finances to planning company events and even helping out on the farm, Cara is always on the go!
Cara has been with IMAC for 4.5 years. With a strong interest in finance and business operations, she enjoys making complex financial information clear and manageable. She studied Accountancy at the University of Ulster, Magee, before completing her training contract with Chartered Accountants Ireland. After gaining experience in various roles, she found her perfect fit at IMAC Group.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Cara loves going on long walks with her dog, Dobby. She also spends as much time as possible with her 14 nieces, nephews and godchildren, planning sleepovers filled with Disney movies.
She enjoys charity and community work, helping with charity accounts and organising local events. Last Christmas, she even transformed into Mrs. Claus to bring some festive cheer! Most Sundays, she’s on the farm with her husband, balancing life between finance and farming.
Something people might be surprised to know, Cara is a farmer’s wife! During lambing season, she swaps spreadsheets for the fields, helping her husband with everything from feeding sheep to assisting with lambing.
If she could have any superpower, she’d freeze time, because there never seem to be enough hours in the day.
Her favourite travel destination is Scotland, loving its stunning landscapes, history, and culture.
Life at IMAC Group
The best part of Cara’s job is the variety and challenge, no two days are ever the same. She enjoys problem-solving, improving processes and working as part of a great team.
To stay motivated and productive, she sets clear goals and breaks them down into manageable tasks. Checking things off keeps her focused. Work-life balance is also important, whether it’s taking a walk with Dobby or spending time with family, recharging helps her stay motivated.
She manages all financial operations at IMAC Group, including monthly management reports, cash flow projections, budgets, payroll, VAT, CIS & RCT returns, and continuously improving financial processes. One of her proudest achievements was completely transforming IMAC Group’s accounting system, moving from an outdated Sage system to Xero, making the finance office entirely paperless.
Inspiration & Advice
Cara finds inspiration in her husband, admiring his dedication to the farm and his ability to balance work and family life. She also looks up to people who make a positive impact in their communities.
A piece of advice she’ll never forget came from IMAC Group Director Kerry, who told her: “You are who you are”—and to forget about the diets! 😂

CEO of IMAC’s Social Club
In addition to her finance role, Cara is also the Chief Events Organiser of IMAC’s Social Club, planning 4-5 events per year to bring the team together. Last year’s activities included paintballing, a day at the races, ziplining, a water park adventure, clay pigeon shooting and even an AC/DC tribute night!
With her energy and enthusiasm, Cara brings so much to IMAC Group, whether in the office or at a company event.
