At IMAC Group, our people bring dedication, drive, and passion to every project. This time, we’re shining the spotlight on Chris Irwin, our Contract Manager, who’s been an integral part of the team since 2010.
Chris brings a sharp eye for detail and a natural flair for planning to his role. Having spent eight years on-site, he built a strong foundation of hands-on experience before stepping into management. His journey through the industry has been shaped by his determination to grow and develop, and it shows in every project he takes on.
Life Outside of Work
Away from the office, Chris is a motorsport enthusiast through and through. In fact, not everyone knows that he was once Irish Grand Prix Karting Champion at just 13 years old, and later Ulster Senior Champion in 2005!
More recently, his time is focused on his family life and he takes great pride in supporting his two kids in their sports. Whether it’s GAA training or matches, he loves being involved and cheering them on. Being there, whether on the sidelines or at practice, is one of his favourite ways to spend time outside work.
If he could have any superpower, it would be the ability to fly, perfect for seeing the world at any time. While he doesn’t have a single favourite destination, he dreams of one day visiting Las Vegas and Singapore for their excitement and energy.
Work at IMAC Group as a Contract Manager
What keeps Chris energised at work is the challenge of success. He thrives on seeing a project through from start to finish, especially new build developments where he’s watched green fields transform into family homes.
A typical day starts bright and early, Chris is often the first one in the office when he’s not on-site. He values open communication with his team, ensuring everyone is both productive and enjoying their work. To stay motivated, he varies his tasks daily and sets short-term goals to keep momentum high.
His proudest achievement so far? His own personal development, growing from his early days on-site to the depth of knowledge and capability he holds today.
Inspiration & Advice
Chris draws inspiration from Michael Schumacher, whose relentless drive, leadership, and dedication to family continue to motivate him.
A piece of advice that has stayed with him is: “Live the day and moment in front of you, not the one that hasn’t started.”
And a favourite quote to keep pushing forward: “Comfort is the enemy of progress.”
